MAIL.FM : FAQs
How does MAIL.FM work?
MAIL.FM is a web-mail interface that allows you direct access to your mailbox on the Telecom server. You can use MAIL.FM to check your e-mail and view any messages on our servers. The advantage of using MAIL.FM is that you can check your e-mail from anywhere in the world, so long you have internet access. This is especially useful for FSMTC customers who frequently travel.
Can I use MAIL.FM and my e-mail client (ie. Outlook Express?)
You can use MAIL.FM in conjuction with your e-mail client. Because MAIL.FM allows you direct access to our server, any message you don't delete through MAIL.FM will be waiting for you the next time you check mail through your e-mail client (ie. Outlook Express). In other words, any messages that are in your MAIL.FM inbox can be downloaded through your e-mail client. Messages that you delete through the MAIL.FM interface are moved to the "trash" folder of your MAIL.FM interface, and will not be downloaded when you next check mail.
To help organize your messages you can use MAIL.FM to create sub-folders. However, when you use an e-mail client to check your e-mail, you can only download the messages that are waiting for you in your inbox. If you wish to leave messages in your inbox as you move them to sub-folders, you may choose to do so by choosing 'yes' under the "Leave messages on server" option of your MAIL.FM preferences.
Can I export my sent messages?
MAIL.FM automatically saves copies of your sent messages. It is not currently possible to export any message folders, including the 'sent message' folder. If you would like to make sure that your have copies of sent messages in the outbox of your mail client, it's probably best to cc: yourself on outgoing messages.
